Campaign Summary
Sinclair partnered with the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN) in the summer of 2023, for the multi-faceted public service campaign, Sinclair Cares: Summer Diaper Drive. The campaign ran July 10 through August 6, 2023.
The fundraising campaign provided a platform for much needed awareness to diaper need – which has never been greater than now. Nearly one in two families in our country struggle to provide diapers for their children. Over 400,000 diapers were provided for families through the campaign.
Through news stories shared across the country on Sinclair’s network of television stations, focusing on the physical, economic, and social impacts of diaper need — with a call to action, encouraging Sinclair’s audience to donate. Sinclair set up live interviews with the National Diaper Bank Network’s CEO, Joanne Samuel Goldblum.
Sinclair TV stations partnered with their local National Diaper Bank Network local affiliates, to further share the specific need in their local markets.
To dig deeper into the research of diaper need, and the policy work currently being done, Sinclair produced a 30-minute Town Hall, with 113 airings across the country — and an additional hour-long discussion streamed on Sinclair news websites and Sinclair’s YouTube channel.
The campaign was also supported by a $25,000 donation from Sinclair.
